• In our wines, all the colors of Tuscany

Company

Azienda Agricola Vallepicciola covers around 265 hectares, 70 of which are vineyards, plus 40 more hectares to be planted within the next 2 years, in the eastern hillside of Castelnuovo Berardenga (Siena) in the Chianti Classico region, ideal for the production of exceptional wines.
The vineyards are scattered on the hills left of river Arbia, an area rich in clay, limestone and stone pebbles.
Meticulous work in the vineyard and very low and concentrated yields lead to a production of high-quality grapes depth of flavor, texture and freshness.

The new modern winery exalts the varietal characteristics of the grapes creating a range of wines that combine a strong personality with significant elegance.

Our goal is to produce wines with the natural expression of our terroir, of the various grape varietals and of the different vintages.

Staff

Bruno Bolfo
Founder & Owner

The founder of Vallepicciola. From Chiavari, the entrepreneurship took him around the world but his passion has always been wine-making in Tuscany. He loves Sangiovese and Pinot Noir although he appreciates great French wines.

Giuseppina Bolfo
Presidente

Chairwoman of Vallepicciola and Hotel Le Fontanelle. Precise and curious, she coordinates the different activities of both companies with stimulating energy (even too much...). She is always on the lookout for new pieces of furniture for the hotel.

Alberto Colombo
General Manager

alberto.colombo@vallepicciola.com

Graduated in Business and Economics, after having ''wasted'' 30 years doing another job, at almost 50 years old he transformed his hobby, found in previous curriculum vitae, into a job. Born in Piedmont, a frequent visitor of wineries and trattorie, he drinks the best bottles with those he loves. He drinks water in moderation.

Riccardo Cotarella
Wine maker

Riccardo Cotarella is one of the best known and esteemed winemakers. Thanks to his extensive experience, his great professionalism, his knowledge of the areas and his ability to interpret them, he produces highly prestigious and elegant wines. He guaranteed that our wines were to become the best in the world ...

Erasmo Mazzone
Cellar Manager

erasmo.mazzone@vallepicciola.com

100% from Samnium (Benevento), graduated in Oenology and winery manager. Enthusiastic, curious, a tireless reader who always aims to transmit skills and passion with kindness and rigor. An avid enthusiast of Falanghina who is falling in love with Sangiovese.

Paolo Romaggioli
Production Manager

paolo.romaggioli@vallepicciola.com

Graduated in Oenology; started off in Velletri and matured his experience in several important Italian wineries before joining Vallepicciola as a technical manager (vineyards and cellar). He is a great communicator (he does speak a lot) and loves his job almost as much as his children. He promised to go on a diet ...

Vanda Mugnaini
Administration & Control Manager

Giacomo Mannari
Retail Sales and Hospitality Manager

giacomo.mannari@vallepicciola.com

Born in Siena, he has always loved the world of wine (understandably) rather than his degree in Political Sciences. He is the retail sales manager and the hospitality reference for all the visitors of Vallepicciola.

He is taking over the big responsibility to teach Tuscan slang to non-autocton colleagues...

Stefano Toccafondi
Sales Manager

stefano.toccafondi@vallepicciola.com

Nicola Vercelotti
Purchasing Manager

nicola.vercellotti@vallepicciola.com

A repented architect who represents the third generation of the Bolfo family to manage the hotel accommodation and wine production. He is the Purchasing Manager for both companies. A great basketball player who loves Tuscan cuisine.

Alessandro Bernardoni
Cellarman

Few words but great commitment, he is the historical memory of our winery. He knows the cellar as the back of his hands, and he treats the bottles as his daughters.
He has been seen crying when last bottle from 2011 was sent...

Operai

Dove passano loro non cresce più l'erba, ma solo uva buona. Grandi amici tra loro, organizzano cene pantagrueliche in cui buon cibo, buon vino e buona compagnia vanno a braccetto. Sono la colonna portante della nostra azienda.
